Falls prevention: What works—and what matters to patients?

A recent systematic review by Pillay et al. (2024, Systematic Reviews) shows that while exercise and multifactorial interventions reduce falls in older adults, patient values and preferences are key.
Older adults want to maintain independence, and they value interventions that are tailored and practical.
For patients with dizziness or imbalance, vestibular causes are often overlooked.
